Scituate is a small historic seacoast town located halfway between Boston and Plymouth. With over 21 square miles of waterways, Scituate offers unrivaled access to the water and views of the Atlantic.

The town of Scituate has 5 town beaches and two scenic lighthouses and is a popular destination in the Summer for local visitors. Scituate Harbor holds a sprawling district of shops, restaurants, and activities throughout the year and is sustained by a thriving year round residential community.

Scituate is located just south of Cohasset along Route 3A where it is connected to nearby communities of Marshfield and Norwell. Commuters in Scituate can access the Greenbush line of the MBTA Commuter Rail with two stops servicing the town, North Scituate and Greenbush and an average ride time of 45 minutes into Boston.

Scituate is divided by neighborhoods: North Scituate Village, Scituate Harbor, and Greenbush-Driftway District and Humarock Village to the South. Each of these neighborhoods bear unique charm and within these communities you’ll find the five public beaches: Minot, Sand Hills, Egypt, Pegotty, and Humarock. Residents of the town can purchase an annual sticker for free parking at local beaches.

The Harbor is host to a number of events throughout the year that draw residents and visitors alike. The St. Patrick’s Day Parade is a joyous celebration marking the start of spring in Scituate, a sign that summer is on it’s way. The town wide celebration of Heritage Days each August draw thousands of all ages with free music, delicious food, and activities like the Blessing of the Fleet.

The town owns and operates the Widow’s Walk Golf Club in the Greenbush-Driftway District and the course is particularly well known as a great bird watching site. Scituate is home to multiple marinas for boat storage and mooring which services the vast boating community.

Scituate’s public school system is considered very good but if you are looking for alternatives nearby Hingham has multiple private schools and the The Inly Montessori School is close by in Norwell.
